Redirect rules
Schedules, geo and device targeting, A/B splits, passwords, expiry, and scan limits.
Every dynamic code has a default destination plus an ordered list of rules. On each scan, rules are evaluated top to bottom at the edge; the first match wins, and the default is the fallback.
Rule types
- Schedule — activate a destination between a start and end time, in a timezone you choose. Ideal for launches and limited offers.
- Geo — route by country or region, e.g. localized landing pages or compliance-gated content.
- Device — send iOS to the App Store, Android to Google Play, desktop to your website.
- A/B split — divide traffic across two or more destinations by percentage and compare conversion in analytics.
Protections
- Password — visitors enter a passphrase on a Cue-hosted page before redirecting.
- Expiry — the code stops redirecting after a date and shows a configurable expired page.
- Scan limit — cap total scans; useful for one-time offers and controlled distributions.
Combining rules
Rules compose. A campaign can be scheduled and geo-targeted and split-tested at once. Protections apply before routing, so a password gate covers every branch. Advanced rules are available on Pro plans and above.
