Cue + WordPress
WebsiteThe short version
Cue works with any WordPress site without a plugin: point a dynamic code at any post or page, and if that content ever moves, gets renamed, or retires, you repoint the code in seconds — every printed copy keeps working. You can also download styled codes from Cue and place them in your pages like any other image.
Works on: Every plan — no plugin, nothing to install
What you can do with WordPress
Print that survives website changes
Leaflets and posters point at a Cue code, not directly at your site — so redesigns, renamed pages, and moved posts never strand your printed material.
Codes inside your content
Download a styled code from Cue and drop it into a page like any image — a booking page code on the contact page, an event code in the newsletter footer.
Campaign pages with an off switch
When a promotion page comes down, repoint its code to your homepage or the next offer — scanners never hit a dead page.
Before you start
- The address of the WordPress post or page you want people to reach.
- A Cue account — the free plan is enough to start.
Set it up
Copy the page address
In WordPress, open the post or page and copy its address from the browser.
Create a dynamic code in Cue
In Cue, go to Dashboard → QR Codes, create a dynamic code with that address as its destination, and style it to match your site.
Use it in print, on the site, or both
Export print-ready files for leaflets and posters, or download a web-friendly image and add it to your WordPress media library like any other picture.
When content moves, repoint
Renamed the page? Retired the promotion? Change the code's destination in Cue — every code already printed follows along in seconds.
Good to know
- No plugin means nothing to update, nothing that can conflict with your theme, and nothing that slows the site down.
- WordPress already redirects some renamed URLs by itself — but only Cue codes survive page deletions, domain changes, and campaign retirements.
- Teams with a developer can generate codes automatically for new posts using Cue's developer access, though most sites never need it.
Questions, answered
- Is there a Cue plugin for WordPress?
- No, deliberately — you don't need one. Codes point at your pages' addresses, and images of codes go in like any other image. Nothing to install means nothing to maintain or break.
- What happens to printed codes if I redesign my site?
- They keep working. Print points at the Cue code, not your page directly — after the redesign, repoint each code at the new address once, and every printed copy follows.
- Can I track scans of a code I embedded on a web page?
- Yes — embedded codes are counted exactly like printed ones. If the same offer appears in print and on your site, use two codes so analytics show where each scan came from.
