Cue + Zapier

The short version

Cue connects to Zapier through webhooks: whenever a QR code is created, changed, or retired in Cue, Zapier hears about it instantly and can pass the news to thousands of other apps. Setup takes about 15 minutes and needs no code — you copy one web address from Zapier into Cue.

Works on: Business and Enterprise plans (webhooks)

What you can do with Zapier

  • Keep a running log of every code

Each time someone on your team creates a code, Zapier adds a row to a Google Sheet or Excel file — name, link, and date — so your campaign tracker stays complete without anyone remembering to update it.

  • Alert the team when a destination changes

If a code that's already printed on menus or posters gets pointed somewhere new, Zapier can email the manager or message the team — so nobody is surprised by where a scan lands.

  • Update your CRM automatically

When a campaign's code goes live, Zapier can create or update the matching record in HubSpot, Salesforce, or whichever CRM you use.

Before you start

  • A Cue Business or Enterprise plan — webhooks are included on both.
  • A Zapier account on a plan that includes their premium apps (the trigger you need, "Webhooks by Zapier", is one of them).
  • Admin access to your Cue workspace, so you can add a webhook.

Set it up

  1. Start a new Zap and copy its address

In Zapier, create a new Zap. Choose "Webhooks by Zapier" as the trigger and pick "Catch Hook". Zapier shows you a web address — copy it.

  2. Give that address to Cue

In Cue, go to Dashboard → Webhooks and click "New endpoint". Paste the address from Zapier, tick the updates you want to send (code created, destination changed, code archived), and save.

  3. Send a test

Create or edit any QR code in Cue. Back in Zapier, the test data appears within seconds — you'll see the code's name, its link, and what changed.

  4. Choose what happens next

Add an action step in Zapier: add a spreadsheet row, send an email, post a message — anything Zapier supports. Turn the Zap on and you're done.

Good to know

  • Cue tells Zapier when a code is created, changed, or retired — not on every individual scan. Scan totals live in your Cue analytics and can be downloaded as a spreadsheet any time.
  • Every update Cue sends is signed, so Zapier receives proof it genuinely came from your account.
  • One webhook can feed several Zaps — you don't need a separate endpoint per Zap.

Questions, answered

Do I need to know how to code to connect Cue and Zapier?
No. The whole setup is copying one web address from Zapier into Cue's dashboard and ticking boxes. If you can set up any other Zap, you can set up this one.
Can Zapier tell me every time someone scans my code?
No — Cue doesn't send a message per scan. Cue notifies Zapier when a code is created, changed, or retired. For scan numbers, use Cue's analytics dashboard or download a CSV, which you can do on any plan.
Which Cue plan do I need?
Webhooks — the thing Zapier listens to — are included on Business and Enterprise plans. You'll also need a Zapier plan that includes their premium apps.
What information does Zapier receive?
The code's name, its short link, its destination, and what changed. Nothing about the people scanning is included — Cue never shares scanner data.
