Cue + Shopify

Online store

The short version

Point a Cue QR code at any Shopify page — a product, a collection, a discount link — print it, and shoppers scan straight into your store. Each placement gets its own code, so Cue's analytics show whether the window sticker or the shelf strip is driving visits, and when stock or season changes you repoint the code instead of reprinting. Works on every Cue plan with no accounts to connect.

Works on: Every plan — you're pointing codes at your store's pages

What you can do with Shopify

  • Packaging that keeps selling

A code on the box can open care instructions today and the reorder page next month — the same printed box, working harder over time.

  • Window shopping after hours

A code in the shop window sells when the shop is shut — straight to the featured collection, with scans telling you which display pulled people in.

  • Shelf strips with proof

Each shelf-edge code points at its product page. Compare scans across aisles and you know which placements earn their space — with numbers, not hunches.

  • Discounts baked into the scan

Point a code at a Shopify discount link and the offer applies itself at checkout — no codes to type, no staff explaining.

Before you start

  • Your Shopify page addresses — product, collection, or discount links, copied from your store.
  • A Cue account — the free plan is enough to start.
  • One code per placement in mind, so the analytics can compare them.

Set it up

  1. Copy the Shopify address

In Shopify, open the product, collection, or discount you want people to land on and copy its web address.

  2. Create a dynamic code in Cue

In Cue, go to Dashboard → QR Codes, create a dynamic code with that address as the destination, and style it to match your packaging or signage.

  3. Duplicate per placement

Box, shelf, window, receipt — each gets its own copy of the code. Group them into a campaign in Cue so the comparison view is ready-made.

  4. Print, place, and read the results

Export print-ready files, put the codes up, and watch Analytics: scans per placement, over time, by location and device.

Good to know

  • Seasonal swaps are the superpower: point the same printed code at the summer collection now and the winter one later — packaging printed once keeps working all year.
  • Cue measures scans and visits; sales attribution happens inside Shopify's own analytics from the visit onwards. UTM tags on the destination help tie the two together.
  • Developers can create codes in bulk for large catalogues using Cue's developer access — useful past a few dozen products.

Questions, answered

Do I need to install anything in Shopify?
No. There's no app to install and no accounts to link — a Cue code simply points at your store's web address, which can't slow your store down or break at checkout.
Can I see sales from each QR code?
Cue shows you scans per code — which placement got attention. For sales, add a UTM tag to the destination and read the revenue in Shopify's analytics; together they give you the full picture.
What happens when a product sells out or changes seasonally?
Repoint the code — at the replacement product, the collection, or a waitlist page — in one click, live in seconds. The printed material never goes stale.
